Maharashtra Government Announces ₹2.25 Crore Reward for Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Radha Yadav

The Maharashtra government will award ₹2.25 crore reward to Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Radha Yadav for their role in India’s 2025 Women’s World Cup win.

The Maharashtra government has announced a cash reward of ₹2.25 crore each for Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Radha Yadav, who were part of India’s 2025 Women’s World Cup-winning squad. India secured their maiden ICC title with a 52-run win over South Africa in the final held on November 2 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Head coach Amol Muzumdar, a Mumbai native, will also receive ₹22.5 lakh for his contribution to the team’s success.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that the entire women’s team will be honoured during their visit to Mumbai in recognition of their historic achievement.

“Today, the Cabinet has passed a resolution to congratulate the women’s cricket team which has done a glorious job of winning the ICC World Cup. Similarly, three players from Maharashtra, Jemimah Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana and Radha Yadav, will be felicitated by the Maharashtra government and will be given a cash prize as per our policy. They have made the country proud,” stated Fadnavis, as quoted by The Hindu.

Notably, Radha Yadav featured in three matches, while Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues played nine and eight games, respectively. Shafali Verma starred in the final with 87 off 78 balls and figures of 2 for 36, earning the Player of the Match award. Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament for her 215 runs and 22 wickets.

India, who finished fourth in the league stage, produced strong performances in the knockouts to claim the title. They next face Australia in an all-format series in February–March 2026.
