IPL 2026: Pathirana Joins KKR Camp After NOC Clearance | Reports

Matheesha Pathirana has reportedly received an NOC to join KKR for the IPL 2026 season, boosting the side after a poor start with 3 losses.

Matheesha Pathirana has reportedly received his No Objection Certificate(NOC) to play in IPL 2026 and join the KKR camp. According to reports from RevSportz, the Sri Lankan pacer will travel to Chennai and join the squad soon.

KKR have struggled early this season, losing 3 matches, with 1 game ending in a draw. Their issues have surfaced in the death overs, where they failed to control scoring. Defeats against the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants exposed these gaps.

The franchise signed Pathirana for ₹18 crore. His availability remained uncertain after a left-leg injury during the T20 World Cup 2026, where he bowled only 4 deliveries against Australia.

Pathirana earlier played for Chennai Super Kings and took 47 wickets in 32 matches. He played a key role in their 2023 title run. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders sit at the bottom with 1 point from 4 matches in IPL 2026. KKR’s next match is against CSK on Tuesday, April 14th, in Chennai.
