The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 begins on 7th February, marking the 10th edition of the tournament. India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the event. Three matches will be played on the opening day. Pakistan face the Netherlands, the West Indies meet Scotland, and defending champions India take on the USA.
A total of 20 teams are competing in the tournament. The lineup includes India, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Ireland, USA, Namibia, Netherlands, Italy, Zimbabwe, Oman, Nepal, Canada and UAE.

India enters the T20 World Cup 2026 with a chance to create history under captain Suryakumar Yadav. No team has defended the title before. No host nation has lifted the trophy either. India, England and West Indies remain the only teams with multiple titles, each winning twice.

India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, the USA, the Netherlands and Namibia. Their campaign begins against the USA on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The tournament features 20 teams across four groups. The top two teams advance to the Super 8s. Semi-finals are scheduled for March 4 and March 5.
