Mitchell Starc Cleared To Join Delhi Capitals, Set For IPL 2026 Debut

Mitchell Starc has been cleared to join Delhi Capitals for IPL 2026, and targets May 1 debut vs Rajasthan Royals after recovering from elbow and shoulder injuries.

Mitchell Starc has received clearance from Cricket Australia and will join Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026. He will travel to India after completing recovery from elbow and shoulder injuries.

Starc suffered the injuries during the Australian summer. He played 5 Tests in the Ashes and earned player-of-the-series honours in a 4-1 win. He also featured for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash.

The left-arm pacer will build workload gradually in India. He is likely to make his season debut on May 1 against Rajasthan Royals. Delhi currently hold a 3-3 record and sit 5th on the table. Lungi Ngidi leads their bowling with 7 wickets in 6 matches.

Delhi retained Starc for A$2 million, which equals INR 11.75 crore.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins has also received clearance to return. He last played in July and dealt with a back stress issue. Recent scans showed no restrictions on his bowling. Cummins is set to feature for Sunrisers Hyderabad this weekend against Rajasthan.
