Mohammad Amir Predicts India’s Loss; Backs New Zealand To Win T20 World Cup Final

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir believes New Zealand national cricket team have the edge over India national cricket team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has once again taken aim at the India national cricket team during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, claiming the side is overly dependent on just two players.

Despite several of his earlier predictions about India turning out to be incorrect, Amir has continued to critique the team’s overall performances in the tournament. He now believes New Zealand national cricket team hold the edge heading into the final and could lift the trophy.

The summit clash will see India and New Zealand battle for the title, marking India’s fourth appearance in a T20 World Cup final and New Zealand’s second in the tournament’s history.

Amir’s Earlier Predictions About India Proved Wrong

Amir has frequently shared strong opinions about India’s campaign during the tournament. Earlier, he predicted that the Suryakumar Yadav-led side would fail to reach the Super 8 stage, a claim that eventually proved incorrect.

He also backed England national cricket team to defeat India in the second semi-final. However, India registered a thrilling seven-run victory to secure their place in the final.

Despite these outcomes, the former Pakistan pacer has maintained that India have not delivered consistent team performances throughout the competition.

Amir Says India Depend On Bumrah And Samson

Speaking on the show Haarna Mana Hai, Amir argued that India’s success in the tournament has largely been driven by two key players, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson.

“New Zealand delivered a complete performance against South Africa in the semi-final. As a team, they have consistently been giving complete performances. For India, I still feel their wins are coming mainly because of two players. Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson have made a significant impact,” Amir said on Haarna Mana Hai.

“The Narendra Modi Stadium will favor New Zealand. Looking at the bowling department, New Zealand seems to be in better form than India. Aside from Bumrah, I don’t see anyone else in form. Both Varun Chakaravarthy and Hardik Pandya are struggling,” he added.

Amir Predicts New Zealand To Lift The Trophy

While Amir acknowledged that both teams possess strong batting line-ups, he believes New Zealand’s bowling unit gives them a decisive advantage in the final.

“Both teams have similar batting line-ups with strong players. However, New Zealand’s bowling is in good form, whereas India rely heavily on Bumrah. That’s why I think New Zealand will win,” Amir concluded.

India will be aiming to secure a record third T20 World Cup title, while New Zealand will look to claim their first trophy in the tournament when the two sides meet in the final.
