Mukul Choudhary’s stunning late blitz powers LSG to a dramatic last-ball win while revealing his inspiring journey.
An emerging talent from Rajasthan, Mukul Choudhary introduced himself in style with a sensational innings that guided Lucknow Super Giants to a thrilling three-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. The young wicketkeeper-batter smashed an unbeaten 54 off just 27 balls, turning the game around in dramatic fashion and sealing the win on the final delivery.
Walking in under immense pressure with LSG struggling at 104/5, Choudhary held his nerve despite quick wickets at the other end. His fearless stroke play and calm temperament stood out, especially considering his limited exposure at the professional level.
Mukul’s Humble Beginnings and Relentless Journey
Hailing from Jhunjhunu, Choudhary’s journey has been shaped by determination and family support. He revealed how his father’s dream laid the foundation for his career.
“Even before my father got married, he had a dream: when I have a son, he will play cricket. Back then, our family condition wasn’t strong that I could start playing cricket early. So, I began playing at around 12-13 years of age,” Choudhary said after receiving his player-of-the-match award.
With limited infrastructure in his early days, he trained at the SBS Cricket Academy in Sikar before moving to Jaipur to pursue better opportunities.
“There weren’t many academies at that time. One academy was there in Sikar at that time, SBS Cricket Academy, had just opened, and I prepared there for about 5-6 years. After that, I moved to Jaipur because if you want to play at a higher level, you have to move forward. I’ve been practicing in Jaipur for the last four years,” he added.
To further sharpen his game, he spent time in Gurugram playing competitive matches in Delhi, adapting to the fast-paced demands of T20 cricket.
“Last year, I felt that T20 cricket has become much faster, so I need to play more matches. I stayed in Gurugram for 3-4 months and played matches in Delhi, which helped me a lot in adapting to faster-paced cricket. That’s been my journey,” he said.

Fearless Mindset Under Pressure
Despite playing just his second match under lights and not yet featuring in domestic cricket, Choudhary displayed remarkable composure. His belief in his abilities was evident as he focused on finishing the game rather than succumbing to pressure.
“This is just my 2nd match under lights. There is pressure but I think that God has given me this opportunity, so I just believe in my ability. This is a chance where you can become something big or make a name for yourself. So, I focus on that and not the pressure,” he said.
He also revealed his simple yet effective approach during the chase. “My plan was to play till the end. I know that if I remain not out till the last, I can win the game – this much trust I have in myself. If the ball comes into my area, I’ll hit it,” he said.
When praised for his fighting spirit, Choudhary proudly linked it to his roots. “It’s in my blood. I’m doing it here, but they serve the country at the border,” Mukul concluded.
