Mitchell Santner Leads New Zealand T20 World Cup Squad; Jacob Duffy Earns Maiden Call-Up

Jacob Duffy earned his maiden selection as Mitchell Santner leads an experienced New Zealand T20 World Cup squad for the tournament in India and Sri Lanka.

New Zealand has named their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad for the tournament in India and Sri Lanka, starting next month. Fast bowler Jacob Duffy is set to make his senior World Cup debut at 31. He is the only uncapped World Cup player in a team carrying 1064 combined T20I appearances.

Duffy enters the tournament as the world’s second-ranked T20I bowler. He ended 2025 with 81 international wickets from 36 matches at an average of 17.

Mitchell Santner will captain the side and is preparing for his ninth ICC global event. The pace unit includes Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, and Adam Milne, with Jimmy Neesham as the seam all-rounder. Spin options feature Ish Sodhi, Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra.

The batting group includes Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, and Daryl Mitchell. Tim Seifert will keep wickets. Several players are completing injury recovery programs and remain on track. Kyle Jamieson will travel as a reserve.
