T20 World Cup 2026 | Tim Seifert-Finn Allen Duo Destroys UAE

New Zealand made a mockery of UAE’s target with a devastating chase that cracked open the team’s bowling attack.

New Zealand delivered a dominant all-round performance to crush the United Arab Emirates by 10 wickets in the 11th match of Group D at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Chennai on February 10.

Chasing a target of 174, the Black Caps made a mockery of the pursuit, racing to 175 without loss in just 15.2 overs, with Tim Seifert and Finn Allen producing a breathtaking opening stand.

Earlier in the evening, UAE put up a competitive total of 173 for 6 after being asked to bat first. Captain Muhammad Waseem led from the front with a composed unbeaten 66 off 45 balls, anchoring the innings after early setbacks.

Aryansh Sharma fell cheaply for 8, but Waseem found able support in Alishan Sharafu, who played a steady knock of 55 from 47 deliveries. The pair stitched together a crucial partnership that helped UAE recover and build a platform through the middle overs.

However, whatever hopes UAE had of defending their total were swiftly extinguished by New Zealand’s explosive opening pair. Tim Seifert was in monstrous form, smashing an unbeaten 89 off just 42 balls, laced with 12 fours and three sixes.

Finn Allen matched him shot for shot at the other end, remaining not out on 84 from 50 deliveries, including five fours and five sixes. The duo put together a flawless opening stand, dismantling the UAE bowling attack with ease.

New Zealand raced to 78 without loss in the powerplay and brought up their 100 in just 8.3 overs, ensuring the result was never in doubt. UAE’s bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with none able to make a breakthrough as the Black Caps cruised home with 28 balls to spare.
