Four Pakistan-born cricketers named in the USA squad have reportedly been denied Indian visas, putting their participation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in serious doubt ahead of the tournament.
Four Pakistan-born players named in the United States squad face uncertainty ahead of the T20 World Cup after failing to secure visas for India. The tournament begins next month and runs across India and Sri Lanka.
Reports from IANS indicate that Ali Khan, Shayan Jahangir, Mohammad Mohsin, and Ehsan Adil did not receive clearance to enter India. All four feature in the 20-member USA squad announced for the global event.
“Yes, it is true that three Pakistani-origin players are denied an Indian visa, which means we are unable to feature in the Twenty20 World Cup,” IANS quoted Ali Khan as saying to Telecom Asia Sport.

The players hold United States citizenship but were born in Pakistan. As per Indian visa regulations, individuals born in Pakistan must apply using documents linked to their country of birth. The visa concern may affect players from eight teams. Cricketers of Pakistani origin also feature in squads from the UAE, Oman, Nepal, Canada, England, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.
Similar issues had surfaced earlier also. The Zulfiqar brothers missed the 2019 events, while Shiraz Ahmed faced delays in 2023. Usman Khawaja in 2017 and Rehan Ahmed and Shoaib Bashir in 2024 also had visa hurdles.
Tournament organisers have not yet issued an official update on the situation.
