Visas have reportedly been cleared for England’s Pakistani-origin players ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 after ICC intervention.
The International Cricket Council has reportedly assisted with visa clearances for players and officials of Pakistani origin ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India. According to PTI, several members of England’s squad have now received approval, including Adil Rashid, Rehan Ahmed, and Saqib Mahmood.
Alongside them, visa clearances have also been granted to members of the Netherlands team and Canada staff member Shah Saleem Zafar. However, applications remain under review for players and officials linked to Pakistan from teams representing the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Italy, Bangladesh, and Canada. These individuals are scheduled to attend visa appointments early next week. All participating teams must complete the process before the January 31 deadline set for the tournament.

Visa applications involving players of Pakistani origin usually pass through additional administrative checks. The issue gained wider notice after United States cricketer Ali Khan posted about visa trouble on social media.
The ICC has since stepped in to manage the process across teams. The board has been in contact with Indian High Commissions across several regions to speed up pending clearances. Organisers remain confident all logistical matters will be settled before the T20 World Cup begins on February 7.
