Paras Dogra was involved in a physical altercation with a Karnataka fielder during the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 final in Hubli.
A major controversy erupted during the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 final when Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra got into a physical altercation with a Karnataka player at the Hubli Cricket Ground. The high-stakes clash between Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka cricket team turned tense as emotions ran high on Day 2.
The incident unfolded after Karnataka’s pace attack, led by Prasidh Krishna, Vyshak Vijaykumar and Vidyadhar Patil, tested Dogra with a series of short balls. The Jammu and Kashmir skipper struggled against the bouncers. Karnataka fielders then began sledging him in an attempt to increase the pressure.
Paras Dogra Headbutts Fielder
After a tense exchange, Dogra pulled Krishna for a boundary in the 101st over. He then charged towards substitute fielder KV Aneesh, who was stationed at short fine leg. In a dramatic moment, Dogra responded to the sledging by hitting the fielder on his helmet with his own headgear.
Soon, the two umpires, Ulhas Gandhe and Rohan Pandit, stepped in to separate the players. Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal also reported the matter to the match official. The altercation was not an isolated incident, as both sides had been engaged in heated exchanges throughout the morning session.
Karnataka’s aggressive bowling and constant chirping unsettled Dogra and his teammate Kanhaiya Wadhawan. The tension eventually turned into a feud involving Dogra, Wadhawan, Krishna and Aneesh.

Jammu and Kashmir ended Day 1 at 284/2 after 87 overs, losing only two wickets. On Day 2, they lost two more wickets in the first session but remained in a solid position, with Dogra and Wadhawan nearing their respective half-centuries.
