Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins has been penalised after his side failed to maintain the required over rate during their IPL 2026 encounter against Gujarat Titans.

Pat Cummins has been fined Rs 12 lakh after Sunrisers Hyderabad maintained a slow over rate in their IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans.

The penalty was confirmed by the IPL governing body following SRH’s heavy defeat against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

According to the IPL’s official statement, the punishment was imposed under the league’s Code of Conduct related to minimum over-rate violations.

“As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Pat Cummins was fined INR 12 lakhs.”

The sanction comes as part of the IPL’s strict regulations regarding slow over rates, with captains being held responsible for repeated delays during matches.

Gujarat Titans Dominate Sunrisers Hyderabad In Ahmedabad

The fine added further disappointment to an already difficult outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who suffered a crushing 82-run defeat against Gujarat Titans.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted 168/5 after important contributions from Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar.

In reply, SRH collapsed for just 86 runs in 14.5 overs as Gujarat’s bowling attack completely dismantled the batting lineup.
