IPL 2026 | Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly Lead PBKS Win As LSG Obliterated In Chandigarh

Punjab Kings crushed Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs after posting a massive 254 in IPL match, with Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly leading the batting charge.

Punjab Kings produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in Match 29 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at New Chandigarh on April 19. Batting first, Punjab Kings piled up a massive 254/7 in their 20 overs, riding on explosive knocks from Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly.

Arya set the tone early with a blistering 93 off just 37 deliveries, smashing four fours and nine sixes at a staggering strike rate of 251.35. After the early dismissal of Prabhsimran Singh for a duck, Connolly took charge and anchored the innings with a superb 87 off 46 balls, laced with eight boundaries and seven sixes.

The duo stitched together a crucial partnership that powered PBKS past the 180-run mark inside 14 overs. Despite a brief middle-order wobble, quick contributions from Marcus Stoinis (29 off 16), Nehal Wadhera (13 off 7), and Shashank Singh (17 off 6) ensured Punjab finished strongly.

LSG Fail To Chase Daunting Target in IPL Clash

Chasing a daunting 255, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a steady start with Mitchell Marsh scoring 40 off 28 balls and Ayush Badoni adding a brisk 35 off 21.

Captain Rishabh Pant kept hopes alive with a quickfire 43 off 23 balls, while Aiden Markram contributed 42 off 22. However, the required run rate kept climbing, and LSG could only manage 200/5 in their 20 overs.

Punjab’s bowlers held their nerve despite the high-scoring conditions. Marco Jansen was the standout performer with figures of 2/37, while Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yuzvendra Chahal chipped in with one wicket each to restrict the opposition. Despite a late unbeaten 21 from Mukul Choudhary, Lucknow fell well short of the target.
