Ravindra Jadeja Set To Play Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 For Saurashtra

Ravindra Jadeja have shared his intention to play VHT 2025-26 ahead of the World Cup.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to feature in Saurashtra’s upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign. As per a report, he is slated to play two group-stage matches in early January against Services and Gujarat in Alur.

This move aligns with a BCCI directive for national team players to gain domestic match practice during the international break between the South Africa and New Zealand series. His participation, however, remains contingent on selection and preparatory schedules for the New Zealand tour beginning January 11.

Jadeja Wants To Push For World Cup Selections

Jadeja’s commitment signals his intent to push for selection in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Having been part of the recent Champions Trophy squad but omitted from the Australia tour, he returned for the home series against South Africa.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar previously noted Jadeja remains in plans, while acknowledging stiff competition from all-rounders like Axar Patel.

Reflecting on his ODI ambitions, Jadeja stated, “I want to play [ODIs], but it’s not in my hands… The next time I get the chance, I will do what I have been doing for so long. And the major tournaments, like the World Cup, if I can do well in the ODIs before that and get the chance for it, then I will do my best for Indian cricket. Winning the 50-over World Cup is everyone’s dream. We missed it marginally the last time, so if possible, we will try to go all the way this time.”
