LSG Coach Shares Rishabh Pant Injury Update And Availability Ahead Of PBKS Clash

IPL 2026 | LSG Edge Past SRH In Thriller As Rishabh Pant Leads From The Front

Rishabh Pant is fit to play for LSG against PBKS, while Bharat Arun highlights progress of his recovery and the pace unit condition.

Lucknow Super Giants have received a major boost ahead of their Indian Premier League 2026 encounter against Punjab Kings, with captain Rishabh Pant declared fit and available for selection.

Pant had raised concerns during the previous match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru after being struck on the left forearm by a short ball from Josh Hazlewood. Although he initially left the field, the wicketkeeper-batter later returned to continue his innings briefly.

Subsequent assessments indicated that the injury was not serious, with early signs pointing to just a bruise. Pant has since resumed training with the squad, easing fears about his availability for the upcoming match.

Bharat Arun Confirms Pant’s Availability

LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun officially confirmed that Pant is fit to take part in the next fixture. Speaking ahead of the game, he said, “He is perfectly alright, fit enough to play tomorrow (Sunday),” putting an end to speculation around the skipper’s condition.

Pant’s presence will be crucial for LSG, both as a leader and a key middle-order batter, as the team looks to strengthen its position in the tournament.

Focus on Pace Attack Development and Team Strategy

Apart from Pant’s fitness, Arun also shed light on the growth of LSG’s fast-bowling unit. Young talents like Prince Yadav have shown promising development, while Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan have made encouraging comebacks after injury setbacks.

Arun emphasized the importance of understanding each player individually to maximize performance, stating, “There is always room for improvement but I think we are fairly happy with the way they are performing. I am extremely happy with their progress and I strongly believe that coaching commences only when you connect with every individual. Because every individual is different,”

He further elaborated on his coaching approach, adding, “And how quickly I connect with these bowlers is my challenge. And as far as that is concerned, I feel that I have connected well with them. And each bowler is different. So I think what they want from me for every bowler would be different. It’s how I cater to their needs.”
