Rohit, who was replaced as captain two years ago, has continued to play under Hardik Pandya’s leadership. Despite frequent rumours linking him with other teams, Mumbai’s latest update makes it clear that he will remain part of their setup for another season. The post also playfully referenced a popular Bollywood dialogue.

Rohit Sharma enjoyed a strong IPL 2025 campaign, scoring 418 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 149 and an average of 30. He registered four half-centuries, including a highest score of 81. Even as Mumbai Indians endured an inconsistent season, Rohit’s aggressive starts often set the tone for their innings.

The franchise’s confirmation of his stay came soon after Kolkata Knight Riders named Abhishek Nayar as their new head coach. Rohit’s name had surfaced in trade rumours due to his long association with Nayar, who previously worked as KKR’s assistant coach. Nayar, a former India all-rounder, has mentored several leading cricketers, including KL Rahul and Dinesh Karthik.
