Rohit Sharma’s motivational message to Sanju Samson before the T20 World Cup resurfaced after Samson’s unbeaten 97 against West Indies.
For India, Sanju Samson delivered when it mattered most. In a virtual knockout against West Indies, he scored an unbeaten 97 to lead India to a 196-run chase and into the T20 World Cup semi-finals.
Samson already owns 3 T20I centuries, but this 97* could rank among his most important knocks due to the match situation.
However, Samson did not start the tournament in the first XI. India opened with Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. It was only after a heavy loss to South Africa, the team management changed the combination. Samson moved to the top alongside Abhishek, while Ishan shifted to No. 3.

After the win, an old clip of Rohit Sharma’s message to Samson has resurfaced online. Before the first match of the tournament, Rohit was heard advising Samson not to lose heart and reminded him that chances can come anytime in a long tournament. The clip has now resurfaced online and is drawing numerous reactions.
“Kaisa hai? Dukhi mat ho bhai. It is a long tournament, kabhi bhi mauka aa sakta hai. (“Don’t be disheartened. It is a long tournament. You’ll get your chance. The opportunity can come anytime),” Rohit is heard saying in the video shared by ICC.
