Yashasvi Jaiswal anchored the innings with an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls. Vaibhav Suryavanshi added quick runs with 39, putting pressure on the bowlers.

After Suryavanshi’s dismissal, Allah Ghazanfar removed Dhruv Jurel for 2 in his first over. Jurel reviewed the decision but lost DRS. Royals slowed slightly and reached 84/2 in 5.4 overs. However, Jaiswal maintained the tempo and guided the side to 150/3 in 11 overs with a strike rate of 240.6. Riyan Parag contributed a quick 20 off 10, while Shimron Hetmyer was unbeaten on 6 off 7 at the close.
Chasing 151, MI lost key wickets early. Rohit Sharma fell for 5, Suryakumar Yadav managed 6, and Tilak Varma made 14. Sherfane Rutherford briefly threatened with 25 off 8 balls before falling to Tushar Deshpande in the 8th over. Naman Dhir top-scored with 25 off 13, but MI finished 27 runs short at 123/9.
For RR, Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets in 3 overs at an economy of 8.67. Ravi Bishnoi and Nandre Burger also claimed 2 wickets each. Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande took 1 wicket each.
