Sanju Samson gave Chennai Super Kings a brisk start in the ongoing IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Facing Vaibhav Arora in the opening over, Samson struck three consecutive boundaries to shift early momentum.
On the first ball, he opened the face and guided it past short third for four. Arora followed with a short delivery, and Samson cut it powerfully for another boundary. The third ball stayed on a hard length near off, but Samson adjusted quickly and steered it wide of short third again.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders opted to bowl first after winning the toss against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. Samson attacked early and gave CSK a quick start, while Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to settle. The opening stand ended at 25 when Gaikwad fell as the first wicket.
Samson then built momentum with Ayush Mhatre. The pair added 47 runs at a brisk pace before Vaibhav Arora broke the partnership. Dewald Brevis joined Samson next and looked to maintain the scoring rate. KKR tightened their lines and slowed the game with disciplined bowling. The pressure paid off when Kartik Tyagi dismissed Samson for 48.
