Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders opted to bowl first after winning the toss against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. Samson attacked early and gave CSK a quick start, while Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to settle. The opening stand ended at 25 when Gaikwad fell as the first wicket.
Samson then built momentum with Ayush Mhatre. The pair added 47 runs at a brisk pace before Vaibhav Arora broke the partnership.
