Saqlain Mushtaq Starts Controversy With ‘Indian Cricket Council’ Remark

Saqlain Mushtaq questioned ICC’s integrity with a controversial remark, calling the board ‘Indian Cricket Council’.

Former Pakistani cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq made strong remarks ahead of the upcoming Super 8 match, bringing pitch conditions and the ICC into the spotlight. While discussing preparation and home advantage, Saqlain Mushtaq made a sarcastic comment about the ICC, referring to it as the ‘Indian Cricket Council’. His statement hinted that host nations could benefit from how pitches are prepared.

“One thing is how the pitch is prepared now. ICC… Indian Cricket Council. ICC is not some other council,” he said.

Pitch Conditions Could Decide the Big Match

Saqlain then said pitch preparation can influence the outcome of a T20 match. He added that teams can gain a 10 to 15 percent advantage if conditions suit their strengths.

At the same time, he praised India’s modern T20 structure. He said India has developed a scientific system with specialist support staff and clear planning. He also credited the West Indies for their long history of aggressive batting, calling it a tradition that shaped today’s power-hitting style.

“Let’s see what kind of pitch they prepare for this game. Even in this, you can get a margin of 10 to 15 percent if the conditions suit your team. Because when you know the conditions well, you can compete better,” he concluded.
