Defending champions India national cricket team are set to take on New Zealand national cricket team in the grand finale of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Sunday. The much-anticipated clash will be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, where thousands of fans are expected to witness the high-stakes encounter.

Their victories came against the United States national cricket team, Namibia national cricket team, Pakistan national cricket team, and Netherlands national cricket team.
India’s Road To The T20 World Cup 2026 Final
India’s momentum was briefly halted during the Super 8 stage when South Africa national cricket team inflicted a heavy 76-run defeat. With their tournament hopes suddenly under pressure, India faced two crucial matches that would decide their fate.
The Men in Blue responded strongly, first defeating Zimbabwe national cricket team and then overcoming the West Indies cricket team in a virtual quarter-final at Eden Gardens to secure a place in the semi-finals.
In the knockout stage, India faced familiar rivals England national cricket team at Wankhede Stadium, marking the third consecutive T20 World Cup semi-final meeting between the two sides.

Sourav Ganguly Confident Of India’s Triumph
India now face New Zealand, who also reached the final after an impressive campaign that included a semi-final victory over South Africa national cricket team.
Historically, India have struggled against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup, having never defeated them in the tournament’s history. However, former India captain Sourav Ganguly believes the hosts have what it takes to lift the trophy.
“India will win the World Cup. They are very strong. All their players can hit sixes. They will definitely win,” Ganguly told news agency ANI. If India manage to win the title, it will mark their record third triumph in the T20 World Cup.
Suryakumar Yadav Acknowledges Pressure Ahead Of Final
Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, captain Suryakumar Yadav admitted that playing a World Cup final at home naturally brings pressure but also immense excitement.
“Yes, obviously, as a leader, there will definitely be pressure on me. I am not saying that there will be no pressure. But at the same time, there is a lot of excitement because you don’t always get a chance to play in the World Cup final. And that too in India,” he told reporters on Saturday.
“We’ve been preparing for this stage really well. Started two years back in its journey and the circle has come to the same stadium again where we left in 2023. Hopefully, we play some good cricket, be courageous in tough situations,” he added.
With both teams in strong form, the final promises to be a thrilling contest as India look to cement their legacy with another global title
