Top-order stability comes from Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Janith Perera and Charith Asalanka. All-round strength remains a major asset, with Wanindu Hasaranga, Kamindu Mendis and Dunith Wellalage providing depth with bat and ball.

Sri Lanka’s attack features proven pace options Dushmantha Chameera and Matheesha Pathirana, supported by mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana. The team is currently playing a home T20I series against England, with the visitors leading 2-0 ahead of the final match tomorrow.

Sri Lanka last won the tournament in 2014 after defeating India in the final.

Sri Lanka open their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on February 8 in Colombo. They face Oman on February 12 in Pallekele. Australia awaits on February 16, also in Pallekele. The group stage concludes on February 19 with a Colombo fixture against Zimbabwe.
