Suryakumar Yadav touched the feet of India’s throwdown specialist Raghu after scoring 82 off 37 balls in the 2nd T20I against New Zealand.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav returned to form in the second T20I against New Zealand on Friday. He scored an unbeaten 82 off 37 balls as India sealed a seven-wicket win and went 2–0 up in the five-match series.

India chased 209 with ease at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. The chase ended in 15.2 overs. Ishan Kishan also made a major impact with his innings.

Soon after the match ended, Suryakumar walked to the dugout and touched the feet of India’s throwdown specialist Raghavendra, known as Raghu. Raghu then hugged the Indian T20I captain. The moment quickly spread across social media platforms.

Notably, Raghu has worked closely with Suryakumar during a difficult phase. He assisted the batter extensively in net sessions. He has remained a constant presence in the national dressing room for more than 10 years. Senior batters like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have credited his work for helping them handle elite fast bowling.

In Raipur, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav rebuilt India’s innings after two early wickets with a decisive partnership. The pair added 122 runs in 48 balls. Kishan scored 76 before falling, while Suryakumar finished unbeaten on 82 from 37 deliveries.

India completed the chase with 28 balls remaining, the fastest 200-plus pursuit by a full-member nation in T20Is. This also marks Suryakumar’s first T20I fifty in 468 days and 23 innings.
