India’s Road To A Historic T20 World Cup Triumph

India entered the tournament as one of the favourites but had a slightly inconsistent start to their campaign. They began with a narrow win over the United States national cricket team, followed by another victory against the Namibia national cricket team, although neither performance was particularly dominant.

The team soon found momentum with a convincing win against the Pakistan national cricket team in Colombo, which helped them secure qualification for the Super 8 stage.

India won all four of their group matches but suffered a heavy defeat against the South Africa national cricket team in their opening Super 8 clash. The setback left them in a must-win situation against the Zimbabwe national cricket team and the West Indies cricket team, both of whom they defeated to reach the knockout stage.
