Virat Kohli shared a warm gesture with Daryl Mitchell after the third and final ODI between India and New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Sunday, January 18. Virat Kohli handed over his signed jersey to Mitchell following the match.
The moment came after New Zealand completed a landmark ODI series win in India, overturning a 0–1 deficit to win 2–1. Both players played key roles throughout the series. Mitchell topped the run charts with 352 runs, while Kohli finished close behind with 240 runs.

In the final match, Daryl Mitchell continued his strong run by scoring a second straight century in the series. He made 137 from 131 balls after New Zealand were asked to bat first in the decider.
Mitchell finished the series with 352 runs, which included two hundreds and one fifty. He averaged 176 and scored at a strike rate of 110.34. The performance earned him the Player of the Series award. Against India, Mitchell now has 741 runs from 11 ODI innings at an average of 74.10, including four centuries.

The attention now shifts to the five-match T20I series starting January 21 in Nagpur. Mitchell will stay on with the squad for the T20Is.
