Waqar Younis Reacts To Pakistan’s Huge Loss Against India In T20 world Cup 2026

India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a one-sided T20 World Cup group-stage match in Colombo on Sunday and Waqar Younis reacted to the commentary.

India once again underlined the gap in quality between the two sides with a dominant win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup group-stage match in Colombo on Sunday evening. What was expected to be a thrilling contest between the arch-rivals turned into a commanding display by Suryakumar Yadav and his team.

Pakistan made a bright start after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Captain Salman Ali Agha brought himself into the attack early and dismissed Abhishek Sharma for a duck.

However, Pakistan failed to build on that early breakthrough as Ishan Kishan counter-attacked in style. The left-hander smashed 77 runs off 40 balls and put India in control. Later, quick and impactful cameos from Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh helped India post a competitive total of 175/7.

During the closing stages of the match, commentator Pommie Mbangwa pointed out India’s continued dominance over Pakistan in T20 World Cup encounters, noting that it was India’s 11th consecutive win over their rivals. His remarks appeared to unsettle fellow commentator and Pakistan legend Waqar Younis.

“The domination of this fixture by India would undoubtedly be annoying for Pakistan…” Mbangwa noted.

Waqar reacting to the remark said: “Alright! Enough. Leave it there. We’ve had enough of that. India have been too good in the last 15-20 years, I would say.”

Chasing 176 was always going to be challenging against a strong Indian bowling unit. However, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled from the start. The team lost four wickets inside the powerplay and never recovered from the early damage. The remaining batters only delayed the inevitable as India bowled Pakistan out for 114 in the 18th over to seal a 61-run victory.
