Raghu Sharma’s heartfelt celebration after the first IPL wicket has grabbed attention as he revealed a note marking his “15 years” journey.

Raghu Sharma marked a memorable moment in IPL 2026 by claiming his maiden wicket during the Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants match at the Wankhede Stadium.

The wicket came in the thirteenth over when Sharma floated the ball on the pads. Akshat Raghuwanshi stepped out to play on the leg side but mistimed the shot. The ball took the inside edge, struck the pad and popped back towards the bowler. Sharma moved to his right and completed a simple return catch. Raghuwanshi departed for 11 off 7 balls.

The celebration drew attention as Raghu Sharma pulled out a crumpled note from his pocket.

“A very painful 15 years by the mercy of Gurudeva ended today. Thanks, Mumbai Indians, for giving me this opportunity. Ever grateful. Jai Sri Ram,” the note read.

In the ongoing match, Lucknow Super Giants posted a massive 228/5 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians, setting a target of 229. The innings ended with a strong run rate of 11.4.

Nicholas Pooran led the charge with 63 off 21 balls, striking at 300 and hitting 8 sixes. Mitchell Marsh added 44 off 25, while Himmat Singh remained unbeaten on 40 off 31. Aiden Markram was not out on 31 off 25, and Rishabh Pant contributed 15 off 10.

Mumbai’s bowlers struggled for control. Jasprit Bumrah conceded 45 runs in 4 overs without a wicket. AM Ghazanfar gave away 50 in 4 overs, while Raghu Sharma stood out with 1 wicket for 36 in 4 overs at an economy of 9.0.
