WATCH | Jasprit Bumrah Teases Mohammed Siraj Over ‘DSP’ Tag as MI Beat GT in IPL 2026 Thriller

Jasprit Bumrah’s playful ‘DSP’ jibe at Mohammed Siraj added spice to MI’s dominant win over GT, powered by Tilak Varma’s stunning century.

The IPL 2026 clash between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium delivered not just high-quality cricket but also a light-hearted moment between two Team India pacers.

Jasprit Bumrah was seen engaging in playful banter with Mohammed Siraj, with Prasidh Krishna also part of the conversation. In a video shared by Gujarat Titans, Bumrah jokingly complained about Siraj not sending him biryani when he visits Hyderabad.

“When I go to Hyderabad, I ask him to send Biryani, then he does. There’s no police car waiting for me, which says DSP,” Bumrah said and chuckled.

He further teased Siraj about his new designation, asking, “Promotion hua ki nahi? Commissioner hai (Did you get promoted).”

For context, Siraj was recently appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana, a recognition of his contributions to Indian cricket, including the T20 World Cup triumph in the Caribbean. Along with the prestigious role, he was also allotted land in Hyderabad, marking a significant personal milestone for the pacer.

The camaraderie between Bumrah and Siraj highlighted the strong bond shared by Indian teammates, even while representing different franchises in the IPL.

Tilak Varma’s Century Powers MI to Dominant Win

On the field, Mumbai Indians delivered a commanding performance to secure a big win. Tilak Varma played a sensational knock, scoring his maiden IPL century. After struggling early at 19 off 22 balls, he turned the game around following a timeout chat with Hardik Pandya, smashing 82 runs off his next 23 deliveries to finish unbeaten on 101 off 45.

Mumbai posted a competitive 199/5, which proved far beyond Gujarat’s reach. Bumrah struck with the very first ball of the innings, setting the tone, while Ashwani Kumar’s brilliant spell of 4/24 dismantled the opposition batting lineup, bowling them out for just 100.

Despite an earlier fiery spell from Kagiso Rabada, Tilak’s explosive innings, featuring eight fours and seven sixes, completely shifted the momentum. The emphatic victory ended Mumbai Indians’ losing streak and significantly boosted their net run rate.
