Rishabh Pant’s incredible one-handed catch to remove Liam Livingstone steals the spotlight in LSG vs SRH IPL 2026 clash.

Rishabh Pant produced a moment of magic on the field as he pulled off a sensational catch to dismiss Liam Livingstone during the IPL 2026 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.

The stunning effort came in the 8th over of SRH’s innings when Livingstone attempted a paddle shot off a delivery from Digvesh Rathi. However, the ball took an edge and popped up awkwardly.

Pant initially moved to his left but quickly adjusted, diving to his right to complete a spectacular one-handed catch. The dismissal proved crucial, as SRH’s innings faltered badly, managing just 35/4 at the 10-over mark—one of the lowest totals in IPL history at that stage.

LSG and SRH aim for stability amid inconsistent starts

Both sides entered the contest looking to find early momentum in the tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by Ishan Kishan, had experienced a mixed run, suffering a heavy defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore but bouncing back with a solid win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants were coming off a disappointing loss to Delhi Capitals, where their batting order faced criticism. The decision to promote Pant to the top did not deliver the desired results, and the middle order struggled after early setbacks, leading to a below-par total of 141. Their bowlers, too, failed to maintain consistent pressure.

After winning the toss, Pant opted to bowl first and shared his thoughts on the conditions and team strategy.

“The wicket is good, let them bat first, and we will put them under pressure in the second innings. It’s not a new challenge, but this is one team that can hurt us. Looks like a good wicket for sure, but there’s something in it, the ball might stick after the first 6 overs. Just one change, Manimaran Siddarth is in, Nortje is out.”

Meanwhile, SRH skipper Ishan Kishan expressed confidence in his side while highlighting key changes in the lineup.

“Very happy, always good to be in front of the home crowd. Two changes – Livingstone and Harshal Patel come in. Harshal has always done well here, Livi will give us some off-spin. Decision-making is the most important, try well and execute your plans. It’s important to get two points, but we need to be calm and take one match at a time.”
