Notably, Rajasthan Royals suffered a five-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 17, hurting their IPL 2026 playoff hopes. RR started strongly as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi attacked early. Jaiswal fell in the second over, while Sooryavanshi smashed 46 off 21 balls before Madhav Tiwari dismissed him. Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag then added 72 runs for the third wicket to push RR towards a big total. However, Mitchell Starc changed the game with four wickets as Rajasthan finished on 193/8. Lungi Ngidi picked up 2/24.

Delhi Capitals responded with a 105-run opening stand between KL Rahul and Abishek Porel. Axar Patel and David Miller later kept DC on track before Ashutosh Sharma sealed victory with an unbeaten 18 off 5 balls.
