A viral interaction between Riyan Parag and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after the youngster’s dismissal on 96 against Gujarat Titans has sparked a massive debate.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again lit up IPL 2026 with a breathtaking innings, but his dismissal in the nineties became one of the biggest talking points from Rajasthan Royals’ Qualifier 2 clash against Gujarat Titans on May 29 in New Chandigarh.
The 15-year-old prodigy smashed 96 runs off just 47 deliveries, helping Rajasthan Royals post a formidable total of 214/6. However, after he fell agonisingly short of a century for the second consecutive game, a brief exchange with captain Riyan Parag triggered widespread speculation across social media.

Sooryavanshi appeared visibly disappointed after getting out for 96, having missed out on a hundred for the second straight match. The teenager had also fallen short of a century during the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the week.
Following his dismissal, television cameras captured an animated conversation between Riyan Parag and the youngster near the dugout. The footage quickly went viral, with many fans interpreting the interaction as the captain expressing frustration over the manner of the dismissal.
Sooryavanshi Overcomes Early Pressure With Stunning Knock
Rajasthan Royals found themselves under pressure early after losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel inside the opening two overs. Gujarat Titans’ pace trio of Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada and Prasidh Krishna consistently targeted the youngster with back-of-a-length deliveries and short balls.
Batting on a used surface, Sooryavanshi initially struggled to find his rhythm. However, he soon adapted and produced another masterclass in aggressive batting.

One of the standout moments of his innings came when he launched Rabada’s 153 kmph delivery straight back over the bowler’s head for a stunning six. Despite being struck on the helmet by the South African quick, the teenager continued to attack and dominated the middle overs.
A dropped catch by Sai Sudharsan on 46 also proved costly as Sooryavanshi raced to his sixth half-century of the season.
