ICC has shifted the Women’s Champions Trophy 2027 from June-July to February, creating a clash with New Zealand’s Australia tour.
The ICC announced major changes to the women’s international calendar after its Board meeting in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy, originally scheduled for June-July 2027, will now take place from February 14 to February 28, 2027. The tournament, first introduced in 2022, will follow the T20 format.
The revised dates now partially clash with New Zealand’s white-ball tour of Australia, scheduled from February 27 to March 7. Reports from ESPNCricinfo also stated that Cricket Australia has started reviewing possible scheduling options.

The ICC additionally confirmed the launch of the Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026 featuring 10 teams, including 5 Full Members and 5 Associate nations.
The Board also finalised the qualification pathway for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 in Pakistan. India will play its matches at a neutral venue. The tournament will feature 12 teams, while the remaining 2 spots will come through a 10-team global qualifier.
