Ireland women’s national cricket team confirmed their 15-player squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England, marking the team’s fifth appearance in the tournament and first since 2023. Captain Gaby Lewis will lead the side after starring in the qualification campaign.
Ireland sealed qualification after finishing second in the Global Qualifier Super Six stage. Lewis played a key role with 276 runs at an average of 39.42. She also was in strong form after scoring 131 for Lancashire against Durham in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The squad features 5 debutants for a Women’s T20 World Cup; Ava Canning, Christina Coulter Reilly, Alana Dalzell, Aimee Maguire and Lara McBride. Former captain Laura Delany will lead the bowling attack. Delany already has 96 T20I wickets and now stands close to becoming the first Irish woman to reach 100 wickets in the format.

All-rounder Orla Prendergast also remains central to Ireland’s plans with 1,744 runs and 60 wickets from 80 international matches.
Ireland begin their campaign against Scotland women’s national cricket team on June 13 in Manchester before facing England women’s national cricket team, New Zealand women’s national cricket team, Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team and West Indies women’s national cricket team later in the group stage.
