WATCH | Sai Sudharsan Dismissed By Unfortunate Hit Wicket Again

Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan endured another bizarre moment in IPL 2026 after getting dismissed hit wicket during Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals in New Chandigarh on May 29. The stylish left-hander was batting beautifully on 58 off just 32 deliveries before his innings came to a dramatic end against RR pacer Brijesh Sharma.

Sudharsan attempted an attacking stroke off a short delivery and connected it perfectly towards the boundary. However, during the follow-through, his bat slipped out of his hands and crashed directly onto the stumps behind him. The unusual dismissal left players and fans stunned inside the stadium.

Before the freak dismissal, the Gujarat Titans openers completely dominated Rajasthan Royals during the chase of 215. Gill and Sudharsan stitched together a magnificent 167-run opening stand in only 12.5 overs and virtually sealed the match for GT.

Sai Sudharsan smashed eight boundaries and one six during his explosive knock, while Gill hammered a sensational 104 off 53 balls, including 15 fours and three sixes.

The partnership also helped the duo achieve multiple IPL records. Gill and Sudharsan overtook Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for the highest number of 50-plus partnerships in IPL history. In addition, the pair registered their 11th century stand in the tournament, once again moving ahead of the legendary RCB duo.
