Rajat Patidar’s Heroics Power RCB To Historic Total
After being sent in to bat first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a batting masterclass to register 254/5 in 20 overs — the highest total ever recorded in IPL playoff history.
Captain Rajat Patidar led the carnage with an unbeaten knock of 93 runs off just 39 deliveries, dismantling the Gujarat bowling attack with fearless strokeplay. RCB’s aggressive batting approach kept GT under pressure throughout the innings.

Shubman Gill Admits GT Failed Under Pressure
Chasing a mammoth 255-run target, Gujarat Titans never really recovered after losing wickets at regular intervals. The defending champions eventually bundled GT out for 162 to secure a comprehensive win.
Following the defeat, GT captain Shubman Gill openly admitted that poor fielding standards and pressure handling hurt his side badly during the knockout clash.
“I think we were going pretty well up until the 12th or 13th over. I don’t think our fielding was at par. We dropped a couple of catches, and our ground fielding was also not up to the mark,” Gill said after the match.
Gill further admitted that the Titans would prefer to move on quickly from the disappointing outing.
“This is one of those games that we would like to forget and start over in Mohali,” he said.
With the dominant victory, RCB booked their place in a second consecutive IPL final, while Gujarat Titans will now have one final chance to stay alive when they feature in Qualifier 2.
