Shimron Hetmyer Takes West Indies to a Massive 107-run Win Over Zimbabwe

West Indies thrashed Zimbabwe by 107 runs after posting 254/6, bowling them out for 147 in a one-sided Super 8 match.

West Indies spelled trouble for Zimbabwe with the bat, posting 254 for 6 in 20 overs in the Super 8 match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Zimbabwe pacers struck early, removing both openers, including Shai Hope for 14. Powell fell in the 17th over to Blessing Muzarabani.

However, Shimron Hetmyer led the charge for the West Indies with 85 off 34 balls, hitting seven sixes. He reached his half-century in just 19 balls, the fastest by a West Indian in T20 World Cup history. Rovman Powell added 59 off 35 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder provided late acceleration.

Chasing 255, Zimbabwe collapsed to 20/3 in three overs. Matthew Forde dismissed Tadiwanashe Marumani for 14 off 8. Akeal Hosein then removed Brian Bennett and Ryan Burl in quick succession. Brad Evans resisted with a fighting 43, but lacked support from the other end.

The West Indies bowlers maintained pressure and dismissed Zimbabwe for 147. With this, the West Indies have registered a massive 107-run win in their Super 8 match.
