‘What Has He Done?’ Kris Srikkanth Targets Axar Patel Amid Poor Form

Krishnamachari Srikkanth criticised Axar Patel after DC collapse to 75 vs RCB in IPL 2026, questioning his role and form as Delhi’s struggles continue.

Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth criticised Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel over his poor form in IPL 2026. His remarks followed Delhi’s massive collapse to 75 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Delhi’s struggles have only increased after failing to defend 264 against Punjab Kings. Another poor defeat soon after has added pressure on the team. The batting unit has struggled for consistency throughout the season.

Notably, Axar Patel has scored only 31 runs in 8 matches. His average stands at 6.20 with a strike rate of 100. He has taken 7 wickets with an economy of 8.33.

Srikkanth questioned Axar’s impact as both captain and all-rounder. He highlighted the lack of contributions with bat and ball.

“He(Axar Patel) hasn’t done anything with the bat in a long time. Even as an all-rounder and captain, it’s been ages since he has done anything. When was the last time he did anything deadly with bat or ball? How can the team come up if this is the case?” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

In their match against RCB, Delhi collapsed for 75 in 16.3 overs after a disastrous start. Sahil Parakh scored 0, KL Rahul made 1, Nitish Rana added 1, and Sameer Rizvi fell for 0. The side slipped to 8/6 in the powerplay.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3/5 in 3 overs, while Josh Hazlewood claimed 4/12 in 3.3 overs. Suyash Sharma picked 1/7 and Krunal Pandya took 1/9. Abishek Porel scored 30 off 33, and David Miller added 19.

In response, RCB chased 76 in just 6.3 overs with 81 balls remaining.
