Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has been hospitalized in Pune after being diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. The Test and ODI opener experienced severe stomach cramps on Tuesday, following his Mumbai team’s final Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match against Rajasthan.

Jaiswal, who scored 15 runs in that game, was promptly admitted to the Aditya Birla Hospital for treatment and remains under medical observation as he recovers from this sudden illness.

This health setback interrupts a period of strong form for the young batter, whose team has been eliminated from the tournament despite winning their last match. Jaiswal’s recent performances had been notable, making his hospitalization a significant concern for fans and team management alike.

Jaiswal to Stay in the Hospital

A source close to the development provided details on his condition on Wednesday, stating, “He was rushed to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad yesterday, after he experienced severe stomach pain. He was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis by the doctors. He underwent a few tests and will stay in the hospital today as well.”

Prior to his illness, Jaiswal was in impressive touch during the tournament. He scored 145 runs across three innings, with a sequence of 29, 101, and 15, boasting an average of 48.33 and a striking rate of 168.6. His century was a standout performance in the competition.
