BCCI have announced a massive cash reward for India after their dominant performance in the T20 World Cup 2026.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for the India national cricket team following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The announcement came shortly after India secured a memorable victory in the final, defeating the New Zealand national cricket team to claim the prestigious title.

India delivered a dominant performance in the final held at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where they registered a comprehensive 96-run victory.

Recognition for Players, Staff and Selectors

The BCCI’s announcement of the INR 131 crore reward serves as recognition of the collective effort that went into the team’s success. From the players delivering consistent performances on the field to the support staff working behind the scenes, the triumph was the result of a coordinated effort across all departments.

The board also acknowledged the contribution of the selection committee, whose decisions played a significant role in assembling a balanced squad capable of handling the pressures of a global tournament.

“India lifted the prestigious trophy after defeating New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, successfully defending the title and becoming the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. With this victory, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, further cementing their place among the most successful teams in the history of the format.

The Board congratulates the players, support staff and selectors once again on this historic achievement and wishes them continued success in the future,” the statement read.

How India Defeated New Zealand

Notably, India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, becoming the first team to successfully defend the title and securing their third T20 World Cup. Batting first, India posted a massive 255 for 5, powered by Sanju Samson’s 89, while Abhishek Sharma (52) and Ishan Kishan (54) added explosive half-centuries.
