BCCI Reveals Squads For Australia Women’s Test and Rising Stars Asia Cup

The BCCI had announced the India and India A squads for the Australia women’s Test and the Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup, scheduled to begin in mid-February.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the India and India A squads for the one-off women’s Test against Australia and the 2026 Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup. The multi-format tour of Australia will begin on February 15, while the Asia Cup is set to start on February 13.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India in the one-off Test, with Smriti Mandhana named as vice-captain. The top order features a strong combination of Shafali Varma and Pratika Rawal. Richa Ghosh and Uma Chetry have been selected as wicketkeepers, while Yastika Bhatia was not considered for the Test squad.

Pratika Rawal, who has been an ODI opener, and all-rounder Amanjot Kaur received their maiden Test call-ups in the batting department. In the bowling unit, youngsters Kranti Goud, Vaishnavi Sharma and Sayali Satghare have earned their first Test selections.

India Women’s Test squad vs Australia

Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana (vc), Shafali Varma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Uma Chetry (wk), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Thakur, Sneh Rana, Kranti Goud, Vaishnavi Sharma, Sayali Satghare.

Uma Chetry has also been named as G Kamalini’s replacement in India’s ODI and T20I squads. Kamalini was recently ruled out of the ongoing Women’s Premier League due to injury. Chetry has represented India in one ODI and seven T20Is so far. The three T20Is and three ODIs will be played before the Perth Test.

Meanwhile, Radha Yadav will captain the India A side in the 2026 Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup. Several young players who impressed in the Women’s Premier League, including Nandani Sharma, Anushka Sharma and Tanuja Kanwar, have been selected.

New faces such as Humairaa Kaazi, Sonia Mendhiya and Jintamani Kalita have also been included in the squad. The tournament will be played in Thailand in the T20 format.
