The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has announced a complete ticket refund after a foggy evening forced the match at Ekana Stadium to be abandoned.
A thick fog at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium forced the abandonment of the fourth T20I between India and South Africa. The match, scheduled for December 17, was called off after multiple inspections as visibility remained too poor for play to proceed safely.
This decision left fans disappointed and sparked criticism over scheduling a night game in North India during peak winter. In response, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) announced a full refund for all ticket holders.
UPCA secretary Prem Manohar Gupta assured a smooth process, stating, “the refund process would be hassle-free.” Board official Rajeev Shukla also acknowledged the issue, admitting “need to review scheduling of matches.”
