Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has named his 15-member India squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, notably excluding Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The tournament is set to take place in India from February 7 to March 8 next year.
Bhogle included Hardik Pandya, who missed the Australia T20I series due to a left quadriceps injury, assuming he returns fully fit. Apart from these changes, his squad mirrors the one selected for the recent five-match T20I series against Australia, which India won 2-1 with two matches washed out. Bhogle’s lineup features Suryakumar Yadav as captain, Shubman Gill as vice-captain, and key names like Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, and Abhishek Sharma among others.
However, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s omission from Harsha Bhogle’s predicted T20 World Cup squad has surprised many, given his strong record in the format. The left-hander has scored 723 runs in 23 T20Is at a strike rate of 164.31 but has not featured for India since July 2024. In his absence, Shubman Gill and Sanju Samson have partnered Abhishek Sharma at the top.
