Rana was seen limping off the field during the match, and sources revealed that he is suffering from joint tenderness. His discomfort was evident during his brief spell, as he conceded 16 runs in a solitary over in the warm-up game. India are scheduled to begin their T20 World Cup campaign against the USA on Saturday.

Harshit Rana Does Not Look Good

India captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed that the situation was being closely monitored and expressed concern over Rana’s fitness. “Harshit does not look good. We will know today,” the skipper said.

The Indian captain admitted that Rana’s absence would be a significant setback but remained confident in the squad’s depth. “If Harshit is ruled out, it will be a big blow. We will have to look at other combinations. But we have enough bench strength,” he added.

When asked about potential replacements, Suryakumar clarified that the team was not restricted to a like-for-like change. “We shall see. No hard and fast rule that he has to be an all rounder,” he said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the T20 World Cup opener.
