England, South Africa, and West Indies are set to leave India on ICC-arranged charter flights after travel disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict.
Several international teams stranded in India after their elimination from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 are now set to depart the country through special charter flights arranged by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The travel arrangements were made after widespread disruption in air travel caused by the ongoing military conflict in West Asia.
Teams including England, South Africa and West Indies have faced delays in returning home due to restrictions affecting major international flight routes.
According to ESPNcricinfo, England will leave India on Saturday evening after their semifinal loss to India in Mumbai. The Harry Brook-led side will board a charter flight from Mumbai that will take them directly to London.
The team had originally planned to depart earlier but was forced to delay its travel due to airspace disruptions linked to the geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
West Indies And South Africa To Fly From Kolkata
Meanwhile, the West Indies and South Africa squads will depart from Kolkata on a separate charter flight arranged by the ICC. Both teams have been staying in the city since their respective exits from the tournament.
South Africa’s campaign ended on March 4 when they lost to New Zealand in the first semifinal. West Indies had earlier been eliminated on March 1 after suffering a defeat against India in their final Super Eight match.

The travel route for both teams will first take them to Johannesburg. From there, the West Indies squad will continue their journey to Antigua. However, the exact departure timing for the two teams is still awaiting final confirmation, although it is expected to take place on Sunday.
Some South African Players To Continue Tour To New Zealand
A section of the South African contingent will not return home immediately. Members of the team management along with players Keshav Maharaj, Jason Smith and George Linde are scheduled to travel to New Zealand on Sunday for an upcoming limited-overs series.
The tour of New Zealand is set to begin on March 15, making it necessary for the players involved to travel directly from India.
