Haris Rauf Suspended, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah Fined After ICC Code of Conduct Breaches

The ICC has penalized several players from India and Pakistan for ICC Code of Conduct breaches during the India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025, with Haris Rauf suspended and others fined.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced disciplinary actions following multiple ICC Code of Conduct breaches during the India–Pakistan matches at the Asia Cup 2025. The incidents occurred on September 14, 21, and 28, with hearings overseen by the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

In the September 14 match, Match Referee Richie Richardson found several players guilty under Article 2.21 for actions bringing the game into disrepute. India’s Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30 percent of his match fee and handed two demerit points. Pakistan’s S. Farhan received an official warning and one demerit point, while Haris Rauf faced a 30 percent match fee deduction and earned two demerit points.

In the September 21 game, ICC Match Referee Andy Pycroft found Arshdeep Singh not guilty of breaching Article 2.6, clearing him of charges related to offensive gestures.

During the September 28 final, Jasprit Bumrah accepted a warning under Article 2.21 for conduct detrimental to the game, earning one demerit point. Haris Rauf was penalised again for the same offence, fined 30 percent of his match fee, and handed two additional demerit points.

With four demerit points in 24 months, Rauf has incurred two suspension points, ruling him out of Pakistan’s ODIs against South Africa on November 4 and 6. As per ICC rules, Level 1 breaches can result in up to a 50 percent match fee fine and two demerit points.
