ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 | India Crowned World Champions After Beating South Africa by 52 Runs

India Women created history by winning their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final.

India lifted their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup title with a 52-run win over South Africa in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. Defending 299, India bowled out South Africa for 246 in 45.3 overs. Deepti Sharma starred with the ball, delivering a brilliant spell that earned her a five-wicket haul. Laura Wolvaardt’s century (101) kept South Africa’s hopes alive, but wickets fell steadily at the other end. Shafali Verma provided crucial breakthroughs, removing Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp in quick succession.

Earlier, South Africa made a strong start through Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits before Amanjot Kaur’s direct hit ended the partnership. Bosch departed for a duck soon after and the chase lost momentum. Deepti then ripped through the middle and lower order to complete the win.
