India U-19 team chose not to share the podium with Mohsin Naqvi during the prize ceremony after the U-19 Asia Cup final on December 21. Pakistan won the title with a 191-run win at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
Naqvi stood with officials during the presentation. Indian players collected medals from another official. Naqvi awarded Pakistan’s medals and handed the trophy to captain Farhan Yousaf. He later joined Pakistan’s celebrations and victory lap.

In the match, Sameer Minhas took Pakistan to 347 for 8 with a 172 off 113 balls. India collapsed to 156 in 26.2 overs during the chase. Deepesh Devendran top-scored with 36 from 16 balls at number 10. Openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre fell early for 26 and 2. Ali Raza impressed with the new ball. Minhas claimed both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards. He topped the tournament run charts with 471 runs from five innings.
