A blistering unbeaten century from Sanju Samson powered Chennai Super Kings to a 23-run win over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.

Chennai Super Kings registered their first win of IPL 2026 with a commanding 23-run victory over Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 11. Riding on a sensational unbeaten century from Sanju Samson, CSK posted a formidable 212/2 before bundling DC out for 189 in 20 overs.

Opting to bat first, CSK got off to a steady start, with Samson anchoring the innings to perfection. He stitched a 62-run opening stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who made 15 off 18 before falling to Axar Patel.

Samson then found an able partner in Ayush Mhatre, as the duo added a crucial 113 runs for the second wicket. Mhatre played a brisk knock of 59 off 36 balls before being retired out in the 18th over.

Delhi Capitals Falter After Solid Start

In response, Delhi Capitals began aggressively, with Pathum Nissanka scoring 41 off 24 and KL Rahul adding 18 off 10, helping DC reach 61 within five overs. However, a flurry of wickets derailed their chase, as they slipped to 76/4 inside eight overs.

Tristan Stubbs kept DC in the hunt with a fighting 60 off 38 balls, supported briefly by David Miller and Ashutosh Sharma.

The turning point came in the death overs when Jamie Overton delivered a match-winning spell, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/18 in four overs. He removed key batters including Stubbs, effectively sealing the contest in CSK’s favour.
