IPL 2026 | RR Clinch Thriller Win After GT Struggle In Front Of 211-Run Chase

Rajasthan Royals held their nerve in a last-over thriller to seal a narrow six-run win over Gujarat Titans in a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash.

Rajasthan Royals edged out Gujarat Titans by a narrow margin of six runs in a high-scoring encounter in Match 9 of the IPL 2026 at Ahmedabad. Defending a challenging total of 210/6, Rajasthan held their nerve in the final overs to restrict Gujarat to 204/8, despite a strong chase led by Sai Sudharsan.

Batting first, Rajasthan got off to a brisk start with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge. The left-hander scored a fluent 55 off 36 balls, striking six fours and three sixes. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi supported well with a quickfire 31 off 18, helping the team reach 70 in just over six overs without losing a wicket.

The innings was then anchored by a superb knock from Dhruv Jurel, who top-scored with 75 off 42 balls. His innings, laced with five fours and five sixes, ensured Rajasthan maintained momentum through the middle overs. Contributions from Shimron Hetmyer (18 off 8) added late impetus as the Royals posted a formidable 210/6 in their 20 overs.

For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada was the standout bowler, picking up 2/42, while Mohammed Siraj, Rashid Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Ashok Sharma chipped in with a wicket each. However, the bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with all conceding at over nine runs per over.

GT Fails To Chase Mammoth Total

Chasing 211, Gujarat Titans began steadily, with Sai Sudharsan playing a brilliant innings of 73 off 44 balls. He struck nine fours and three sixes, holding the innings together during the chase. Kumar Kushagra (18 off 14) and Jos Buttler (26 off 14) provided decent support as Gujarat reached 107/2 in the 11th over.

However, the turning point came in the middle overs when Ravi Bishnoi dismantled the batting lineup with a four-wicket haul. He removed key batters including Sudharsan, Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, and Rahul Tewatia, finishing with figures of 4/41 and halting Gujarat’s momentum.

Despite late resistance from Rashid Khan, who scored 24 off 16, and Kagiso Rabada, who remained unbeaten on 23 off 16, Gujarat fell just short. The required rate proved slightly too steep in the final overs, as Rajasthan’s bowlers held their composure under pressure.
